Marquette Bank Receives Dual Honors for Commitment to Chicago-Area Neighborhoods

Release date: 10/16/2026

CHICAGO, Illinois - October 16, 2026 - Marquette Bank has earned two prestigious awards recognizing its longstanding c, ommitment to strengthening neighborhoods. The bank received the 2026 Illinois Bankers Association Community Service Award and the 2026 Community Commitment Award for Volunteerism from the American Bankers Association Foundation, highlighting the bank's continued investment in the neighborhoods it serves.

The dual recognition follows a milestone year for Marquette Bank, which celebrated its 80th anniversary by expanding its neighborhood involvement through more than 80 volunteer opportunities. In 2025, 163 employees contributed more than 1,900 volunteer hours, while the bank provided more than $900,000 in grants and neighborhood support.

"Giving back to our neighborhoods is part of who we are at Marquette Bank," said Christie Cox, First Vice President, Director of Neighborhood. "These awards reflect the dedication of our employees. Our neighborhood commitment is a core part of our culture and identity as a neighborhood bank, giving back to the same neighborhoods where we have offices, branches, and where our employees live."

During its 80th anniversary celebration, Marquette Bank launched an ambitious expansion of its long-standing Marquette Neighborhood Commitment initiative. What began as a milestone celebration became one of the most impactful years in the Bank's history, bringing together employees, nonprofit partners, community leaders, and customers to address critical needs in housing and shelter, hunger relief, education, health and wellness, and financial education.

"To receive recognition from two respected organizations at a local and national level is a tremendous honor and a testament to our employees' dedication to the neighborhoods we serve," said Betty Harn, President & CEO. "Our employees lead by example, generously sharing their time, talents and personal resources to our neighbors. These awards belong to our entire Marquette Bank family and the neighborhood partners who work alongside us to make a meaningful difference."

In 2008, the bank formed the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment by bringing together volunteer activities, economic development, community partnerships, financial education efforts and charitable projects to serve those in need. Since its inception, the initiative has received previous recognition at both national and state levels, including honors from the American Bankers Association Foundation and the Community Bankers Association of Illinois.

Marquette Bank accepted the Illinois Bankers Association award at the organization's Annual Conference in St. Louis earlier this month and will accept the American Bankers Association Foundation award at the American Bankers Association Annual Convention on October 27, 2026 in Salt Lake City.
